FAQ’s – Winter Clinics
What is the objective of the Winter Clinics?
Our primary objective is PLAYER DEVELOPMENT. We provide a positive, challenging, and competitive environment where players can continue to learn, improve, compete, and build confidence throughout the winter.
How many Winter Clinic sessions do you offer?
We offer THREE separate sessions throughout the winter. Each session is six weeks long, providing players who participate in all three sessions with 18 weeks of continued development.
What will players work on?
Training will focus on the fundamentals of the game, including first touch, passing and receiving, dribbling, 1v1 play, finishing, movement with and without the ball, communication, decision-making, and speed of play.
What is the AJAX approach?
We want players to understand the simplicity of the game while also having the confidence to take risks, be creative, compete, and learn from mistakes. Players are encouraged to ask questions, accept coaching, and most importantly, apply what they learn on the field.
Why are there two of the same clinics?
If we offer two of the same program, such as Li’l Soccers Pro I & II or Juniors I & II, it is simply due to high demand. The programs are the same, with different start times. Both follow the same curriculum, coaching philosophy, expectations, and developmental objectives
Is there a capacity for each clinic?
Yes. Each clinic has a maximum capacity to ensure we maintain an appropriate player-to-coach ratio and quality training environment. Once a clinic reaches capacity, registration will be closed. We strongly encourage families to register early to secure their spot.
Can players move between groups?
Yes. Our coaching staff will continuously evaluate players. When appropriate, players may be moved between groups based on their development, ability, and level of competitiveness.
What do we expect from players?
Players should arrive ready to listen, learn, work hard, compete, ask questions, and have fun. We want players to develop not only their soccer ability, but also strong training habits, confidence, discipline, responsibility, and coachability.
When is payment due?
Payment must be submitted in full before the first day of each clinic session.
Please make all checks payable to LWSA and mail payment to:

Payment must be received prior to the start of the clinic to confirm and secure your player’s registration.
What is our overall goal?
Our goal is for every player to leave each session better than when they started—more confident with the ball, more comfortable making decisions, more knowledgeable about the game, and most importantly, excited to continue playing and developing.
